I am urging you to walk in victory in your life. No, I don’t mean start stomping all over people and being shrewd. I mean walk in victory over the things that have had you feeling like your life is pointless or doesn’t measure up. Walking in victory doesn’t start with us standing tall or having the best selfies.
True victory starts on our knees with tears rolling down our faces.
A true victory starts with submission to God. A heart that is no longer willing to run from the pain or at the prompting of God, but a heart that submits. A heart that says “not my will, but your will”. A heart willing to let go and release it into God's hands and let His will prevail.
Walking in victory isn’t physically hard, but it is emotionally and spiritually challenging. Many times the victory is on the other side of our obedience. When we feel a temptation in life and we decide to do the right thing during the testing, we will come out victorious. It may seem small to you and others, but it’s actually so big to God. The more you overcome temptation, the more victory you will see in your life.
I’d love to tell you that I have conquered every giant and I no longer get tempted, but that would be a lie. I get tempted, I get down, I get sad, I get lonely, I get overwhelmed, I get tired, and I lose faith at times in God's very promises for me. And even in all that, God still gives victory. Victory comes when you face the test head on and pass it on your knees. When you face it in prayer, when you face it in faith, and believe that somehow God will give you victory.
Remember that walking in victory starts on your knees, and truly experiencing victory takes place when we get through the temptation and testing of our faith. When God says he will give you victory there are no odds stacked against you, only his promise. And that promise will come to pass.
