The Beauty in Unwanted Change

you’re not the same woman you were. And that’s a good thing

As I sit down to write this, it’s been one full year since I moved. A move I had no desire to make. But God made staying unbearable until I finally humbled myself to leave. As necessary as I knew it was, it still weighed on me with the heaviness of regret.

That’s the thing about transition. Whether you're moving to a new city, stepping into a new season of life, shifting your mindset, or letting go of something familiar, there’s always grief. The comfort of what once was still calls your name. Your old routine feels like a security blanket.

But let’s be real…you’re not the same woman you were. And that’s a good thing.

I’m not in the same mental space I was a year ago. I see more clearly. I trust God in new ways. Growth happens when we surrender. Maturity comes when we embrace the unknown. Vision unfolds when we take the next step, even when we don’t know where it leads.

Yet, uncertainty lingers. The new reality feels foreign, and the life you’re building looks nothing like what you once knew. Maybe it’s revealing itself in ways you never imagined, and you’re still waiting for the goodness of it all to make sense.

But here’s the truth: God already has your story written.

When Jesus prepared to leave His disciples, their hearts were heavy with grief. They had the privilege of knowing Him, seeing Him move, and walking with Him daily. But none of that compared to the hope He was bringing when they finally let go.

If you’re in the middle of a transition and struggling to see the good in it, hold on. God is moving in ways you can’t see yet. The discomfort isn’t for nothing. He’s preparing something greater.

Trust the process. Trust His plan. And most of all, trust that He’s in the midst of it all.

Weekly Scripture

"See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland."

Isaish 43:19
