First, ask God. Then, don’t hold back from asking people.

I love being a strong, independent, go-getter kind of woman. But let’s be real – some days, I find myself drowning in work, buried under an endless to-do list, and feeling like I’m running miles behind on my goals. One day, I came across this little nugget of wisdom: “Have the audacity to ask.”
Now, I’m not going to lie – asking for help, opportunities, or even just advice has always been my kryptonite. Like, I’d rather struggle in silence than ask for a hand (not my proudest moment). But after I stared at my goals for 2025, I had a lightbulb moment: What if I could hit some of these goals... if I just asked?
So, I did what any self-respecting, slightly scared-but-also-determined woman would do. I made a list of all the people and organizations I could reach out to and – you guessed it – ask for help. I started sliding into DMs, firing off emails, and pitching myself like I was born for it. Whether it was asking for an interview, to be a speaker, or even to pitch a book, I was going for it. And yeah, it felt terrifying, but it was also incredibly necessary.

Here’s what I learned from embracing the art of asking:
You Never Know What Doors Are Ready to Open Some doors just need a little push. I’m talking about those “yeses” that hit me within an hour of reaching out – I was shocked. The takeaway? My gift will make room for me, but I’ve got to show up and knock on the door first.
Asking Shows You’ve Got Faith If you’re willing to ask, you’re showing you believe your dreams are worth pursuing. You’re not sitting around hoping for the best – you’re stepping out of your comfort zone and taking action. That’s some serious faith in God and yourself right there.
Ask from a Place of Love (Not Greed) When you ask from a heart of kindness and authenticity – not for selfish gain – you’ll find that God is more likely to respond with something good. Even a “no” can lead to a “yes” somewhere else.
Now, daughter of God, I’m telling you: don’t be afraid to ask. First, ask God. Then, don’t hold back from asking people. You never know – that next question could open up a door to something amazing. I’ve faced plenty of “no’s” along the way, but the “yeses” have been mind-blowing and so clearly God-led. So, go ahead – be bold, be brave, and ask.
Weekly Scripture
“You ask and do not receive, because you ask wrongly, to spend it on your passions.”
