Taking the legs off my pink sofa and wrapping up the 2022 year was a lot. I was letting go of something I cherished so much in previous seasons. But now I’ve outgrown it. See, my pink couch wasn’t just a pink couch. This couch was the only piece of furniture in my city apartment for a while. I had no money, but I had a pink couch. I’d sit on that couch and record videos. I’d lay on that couch, I’d pray and believe God would turn things around.
As 2022 was wrapping up, I heard God say, "Get rid of the pink couch." A part of me wanted to keep it. I tried to find space for it somewhere. Nonetheless, I took the legs off the couch, hauled it outside, and got rid of it. This pink couch was the only thing I had left from that previous season. I wanted to hold on to it for memories. The pink couch only represented what God was trying to teach me.
If we don’t let go of the old, we can’t get the new that God has for us. The next level comes with a cost…getting rid of something you like for something even greater. See, the pink couch represented a previous season.
I want to encourage you to believe that the next level you’ve been praying for is on the other side of faith. Faith will follow with action.
Letting go of the pink couch was just a way to show God I believe that I’m ready for my next season. That I may be lost at times, overwhelmed, scared, and empty, but I will obey and believe for more.
