Going through Hills & Valley

“The Christian faith is made up of many hills and valleys”- Derek Prince

One day I dropped to my knees on my office floor. Great big tears, rolled down my face. I felt so much pressure from every corner of my life. From paying employees to weekly tasks, to consistently feeling overwhelmed financially. I couldn’t understand what happened, everything was flowing so well and month after month I noticed things started to dry up. As I sat on the office floor praying to God for help, and assistance, to bring me peace again even amid the storm a word came back to my spirit. I heard an old minister Derek Prince once say “The Christian faith is made up of many hills and valleys”. I never knew what that fully meant until I was living it out.

The ministry was once on the hill, where everything was going well, and numbers and money were flowing, but when we hit a valley my heart said “What did I do?”, “Did I mess this up”? “Did I commit a great sin that caused this”? In all those questions I had to stop and know that this is a part of the Christian faith. Highs and lows will come, but what matters is how we handle the low season. Did we learn, did we grow, did we try new things? Did we trust God even with less?

That day on my office floor covered in tears, I knew that this was necessary, even though it hurt and I was scared. It was essential for me to grow and I couldn't run away from it, I had to stand in it.

If you’ve been running from the lows of your life, today I challenge you to allow God to have authority over your low areas. To relinquish all fear, anxiety, and worry and let go of the outcome and how things will come together. Give your lowest moments over to God to redeem.

Weekly Scripture

I will open rivers on the barren heights, and fountains in the middle of the valleys. I will turn the desert into a pool of water, and the dry land into flowing springs...I am doing this so all who see this miracle will understand what it means— that it is the LORD who has done this, the Holy One of Israel who created it."

Isaiah 41:18,20
