God and Finances

My heart is racing, nervous about how I will pay the bill. Unsure where the finances are going to come from and will I be able to survive? Honestly, I've been here many times and I have learned that my bank account shouldn't dictate my devotion to God. I would love to say the lack of finances has never moved me in my faith, but that's not true. I've experienced negative bank accounts and wondered, why God didn't hear my cry. I went through years of struggle and wondered why God didn't bring my breakthrough. I've been without many times and felt like God had forgotten about me.

The truth is finances have moved me before, but now I have a newfound understanding of God and Finances.

First, I realized that seasons are meant for a reason.

A season of lack doesn't mean I did something wrong, but it's here for a reason. Maybe to learn a new skill, open up a new venture, or even teach others about how to come out. Either way, a season of lack isn't meant to be rushed but embraced. My most creative content and streams of income came from a hard season.

Second, don't throw in the towel due to a hard season.

I know it's easier said than done, but please don't allow a hard season to make you forfeit your season of harvest. What we sow in the hard season prepares us for harvest in another season. If we sow nothing, we will gain nothing. We must sow our ideas, time, love, creativity, gifts, and more. Don't stop sowing and don't grow weary and throw in the towel. You will reap if you don't stop sowing.

Third, Your Dream doesn't have a Price Tag.

I used to believe a certain amount of money in my bank account meant I reached my dream until I realized that at times I was living my dream with way less than I thought I needed. I experienced God over and over again doing amazing things in my life, even when my finances were nowhere near what I deemed good. Remember that no number will confirm if you've reached the dream, God determines that.

I challenge you today to sit down with God and make a plan for your finances. Address any areas that you've waivered in your faith due to your finances and give it back over to God.

Jesus can handle it, and don't allow the lack of money to stop you from going for your dream.
