Because in His hands, even our mistakes can be used for growth.

I stared at the text. The last response was over a year ago. I wanted to make things right, to have a face-to-face conversation, but reality sank in: it wasn’t going to happen anytime soon. Maybe never.
The little girl in me, desperate to make everyone happy, was devastated. A tear escaped down my cheek. Then several more followed. I had messed up a good friendship because of careless mistakes, and I had to now own that.
Sometimes, life’s lessons aren’t wrapped in beauty.
Sometimes, we’re the ones who cause the hurt.
Sometimes, good intentions aren’t enough.

But sitting in regret won’t undo the past. Acknowledge your mistakes, yes—but also remember: even in moments like this, God’s grace is sufficient. His mercy is everlasting.
So, what do we do when the reflection staring back at us isn’t as flattering as we imagined?
We follow the examples of Peter, of David, of countless others before us:
Repent.
Receive forgiveness.
Do better.
Relationships are a part of God’s design. Some we willingly release, while others slip away despite our best efforts. Some of those endings hurt more than others.
But true growth, the kind that allows you to bloom into the woman God has called you to be, isn’t found in a perfect, fairytale ending. It’s in the pruning. It’s in acknowledging your missteps, accepting the lessons, and leaning on Christ to reshape your heart. Then when those new relationships, Godly connections, and purpose partners enter your life you’ll be better equipped to care for them.
Relationships, including friendships, are important to our walk with Christ. Will you allow God to refine you into a better friend, sister, wife, Christian, or daughter? That’s where the victory lies—not in getting it all right, but in allowing God to do His transformative work in you.
Because in His hands, even our mistakes can be used for growth.
