I was sitting at my desk experiencing writer’s block when I asked myself, “What would I tell a Daughter of God if she asked me if she should shift?”
I’d say yes, go for it, because you are closer than you think you are!
See, I’ve realized that in many seasons of our lives we are called to shift. No matter how old, or how much a baby in the faith, God will lead us to a crossroad. It’s a decision we must make, to continue on the path of comfort or the path of adventure.
Now, I know the path of comfort is all we know, it's become our home, our moods, our mindsets, our fears, our joys, and our simplicity. However, I know when God calls you higher, He will call you to shift! This shift is different for each of us.
For some that shift may be to let go of a job, a relationship, or a goal. No matter the case, it will come, and it’s actually to take us higher. For years now my vision has to build a team of women and grow this ministry powerfully.
I’ve missed out on many family functions, date nights, and a lot of sleep for this vision, and then one day God said, “Let it go. Let go of the way you saw it coming to fruition. Let go of how you aligned it with your life and let me take control of it.”
This meant releasing team members, scaling back, and getting back to the basics. Getting back to how things were before the whole team and the followers even knew me. Just back to the general mission.
Today, if I can tell you anything to take with you on this next season of life, it’s to embrace the shifts that God is calling you to. Going back to school, getting married, going for your dream, or whatever else it may be.
This is your chance to live a life of adventure, a life that you can look back on years from now and say, “Man, I leaped and trusted God!”
The Goal of this life isn’t to live perfectly, without any fears, but to face your fears head-on and make the decisions you don’t want to make. This life is beautiful and becomes more beautiful every-time we shift. Everytime we take a new route less traveled we are opening ourselves up to a greater experience.
Now, Daughter of God, Embrace The Shift!
Scripture
"But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who have faith and preserve their souls."
