Do We Believe For It?

Hearing the beautiful song “Believe For It” by Cece Winans, has sparked a message in my heart. One that pulsed in my soul.

Do you believe for it, Marlene? Do you really believe for it, (insert name here)

I asked myself, and began to wrestle with this question in my mind, when it comes to the dreams and the desires that've been placed within myself or that others have spoken over my life (specifically my dream to become a doctor). I wondered if it could really happen? And was this something that I could count on God to help me with? The answer is YES! But first I must prepare. For example, for me to get to the point of becoming a doctor, it will require me to take the time to prepare by studying for the medical college admission test (I took it on April 14th, your prayers are appreciated for this journey).

Now, listen, I could do all the pep talks that would make my heart content, meet up with my mentors, or even study for hours. But, I have to expect and BELIEVE for it. If my belief is lacking in becoming an MD (and it has), that means I’m not fully trusting God with the results. I need to encourage myself and have Faith!

Here are some scriptures we can use to help encourage our faith in God with our BIGGEST dreams?

  1. We TEND diligently to the garden of those aspirations even after the belief has been planted. Once a seed is planted, there is still a process of tending to the crops' growth (Proverbs 4:23).

  1. We SPEAK life into our journey of becoming the person God has called us to be, His spirit to accomplish (Proverbs 18:21).

  1. We LIVE a life of belief, trusting God as we work toward His inspired goals for us. Our faith and the facts must coincide with the reality of God’s promises to us, as His children (Ephesians 2:10)

God is ABLE to do the finished work in all of our lives. After all, He is JUST getting started!

“Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all we ask or think according to the power that worketh in us.” Ephesians 3:20 (KJV)
